Columbia Nephrology Associates Opens Sumter Office

(COLUMBIA, SC) – Physicians with Columbia Nephrology Associates are now seeing patients at the practice’s Sumter office.

The Midlands’ leading kidney specialists, Columbia Nephrology now has offices in four locations: Columbia, Lugoff, Newberry and Sumter.

“We’re very excited about the opportunity to offer Sumter residents the same care they’ve come to expect at our Columbia office, but closer to home,” said Greg Catt, CEO of Columbia Nephrology.

Matthew A. Floyd M.D. is accepting patients at 115 N. Sumter Street, Sumter, S.C., 29150. 

The office is located inside the Swan Lake Dialysis Unit. The address is a temporary location until the practice finds a dedicated space.

According to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), one in eight South Carolinians has Chronic Kidney Disease, or CKD. South Carolina also ranks fifth in the country for patients on dialysis. Those at the highest risk of developing kidney disease are people with diabetes, high blood pressure and those over 60 years old.

Columbia Nephrology Associates is widely considered the experts on kidney conditions throughout the greater Columbia, South Carolina, area. It is the largest kidney specialty practice in South Carolina, offering the area’s only vascular access center through its partnership with Fresenius Vascular Care. The vascular access center offers an interventional training program for medical professionals. The center’s training program is certified by the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology.
